This year’s convention will be hosted
at the Hilton
Hotel and Convention Center in Downtown
Scranton. This hotel is only four years old and is
located in the heart of downtown Scranton, just a mere
block or two walk to restaurants, pubs, churches and the
two floor, Steamtown
Mall. Also, Steamtown
National Historic Site and The
Lackawanna County Trolley Museum are just a 5-minute
walk away.
For fans of the NBC hit TV show The
Office, Scranton hosted the first, of what hope to
be annual, Office Convention. Most of the cast descended
on Scranton for a weekend in October. You can visit many
of the landmarks mentioned on the show like, Poor Richards
Pub, Coopers Seafood, Alfredo’s Pizza, and the Penn Paper
tower. You can also take a photo with the “Welcome to
Scranton” sign pictured on the shows opening credits.
Remember, “There ain’t no party like a Scranton
party, cuz a Scranton party don’t stop.”
Garage parking is included in the convention
rates for both the early arrival nights and the convention
nights. The parking garage will accommodate vans and SUVs,
bus parking is free for those groups traveling in en masse.
The Hotel is home to a Trolley’s Bistro, an excellent
restaurant, as well as and PJ’s Pub a nice place to relax
and enjoy a local brewed Stegmaier. For the early birds,
there is a Starbucks located in the lobby and Northern
Lights Gourmet Coffee Shop right around the corner. We
have wonderful space on the second floor for hospitality,
dinner and meeting functions so this year’s convention
should be a winner.
